Salaam!

Ola Alanqar is a Canadian interdisciplinary artist, designer, and a researcher in art history. As a mother of four, Ola understands how important it is for families to connect with their roots and develop a strong identity in today’s fast changing world. Inspired by Sacred Geometry, indigenous, and traditional methods of art making, with a smattering of Van Gogh, Ola’s work brings a unique offering to her audience. Think distinguished pieces, with a contemporary twist between ancient and modern arts.

Ola's signature pieces stand out to tell a special story and help reflect upon authentic methods, through modern design. With over 20 years of research and expertise in various styles, Ola enjoys creating art pieces that aim to manifest the beauty of Sacred Arts. Each painting comes to celebrate not only its unique identity, but also the diversity of the culture that connects the heart and mind.

Ola enjoys using a wide array of mediums from watercolors and gouache, oils, acrylics, natural hand-made inks and shell gold, and finds joy in preparing and dying papers as per the natural traditional methods. She is continuously looking for innovative ways to widen her perspective in her artistic journey and she is working towards her “Ijaza” or license in Arabic Calligraphy with master calligrapher Shahrayanshah Sirajuddin and illumination with master Fatima Ulsoy in Turkey.
