FAQ

  • What is giclée Fine Art print?

giclée is a French term for “to spray” or “to squirt”. It references the process that uses the highest quality archival inks on a special inkjet printer to reproduce the original piece. It is important to note that not all inkjet prints are giclée prints. With giclée printing, you can expect a higher quality product that lasts longer when displayed in normal conditions indoors, and should retain their colour brilliance for a lifetime.

Giclée prints are the preferred choice for high-end buyers and collectors.

  • What kind of paper is used for art prints?

Giclée Fine Art prints are printed on premium quality hot press, 300 gsm watercolour paper.

  • What is a gold embellished Giclée print?

The selected Giclée print is hand embellished with real gold. Depending on the design, some prints will be embellished with shell gold and later burnished (in the case of illumination pieces with fine details), and some with gold sheets. Both methods use the highest quality gold (21K or 24K). This process uses the traditional methods of illumination and done for each print individually by hand.

  • How should I take care of my Giclée prints?

Giclée prints have a delicate surface and should be treated just like a precious piece of original artwork. Please make sure they are kept away from any substances and handled them with care. It’s highly recommended to frame them behind an archival antiglare glass and display the artwork away from direct sunlight indoors.
